Archery Scout

EE WILSON ARCHERY RANGE

Ages 8-13 | Spring Semester Dates coming in February

Tuesdays 3:15pm-5:30pm

Led by experienced instructors, this weekly offering takes participants through the progression of target shooting and familiarizes them with gear, safety and technique.

 

Participants will practice all aspects of archery and work on target shooting, moving targets, shooting while concealed and from high angles. We will practice with traditional recurve and compound bows. All equipment is provided. Instructor will go over how to build arrows and survival bows as well as how to string bows.  Instructors' also lead lessons in Sling Shot.​

Fish Hunter Wednesdays

LOCATION VARIES

Ages 7-13 | Spring Semester Dates Coming in February

Wednesdays 3:00pm-5:30pm

Learn the ins and outs of fishing and what it takes to be a successful and responsible fisherperson! Participants will practice rod and reel, casting, baiting, cleaning, and cooking. We may explore other methods such as fly casting, fish traps, gathering crawdads, making fish spears etc. depending on interest and time.

Each week we will meet (drop off) at a local fishing spot such as Waverly Lake or Timber Linn Lake in Albany or EE Wilson north of Corvallis. Parents will drop off and pick up at the weekly location that will be indicated by the instructor at 3:00 and we can adapt for late arrivals up to 3:15.​

'Outsiders' Afterschool

Outsiders Afterschool provides a chance to join an outdoor adventure crew to build team and wilderness skills! We run this program through Parks and Rec, the Waldorf School and Ashbrook.  Ashbrook and Waldorf are on site pick up by Coyle Outside at dismissal and our City program is a drop off at Willamette Park.  All programs end at Willamette Park.

 

Coyle Outside instructors will guide participants through a semester skills progression in this 100% outdoors program.  Curriculum is aligned with the seasons.  Students engage a variety of outdoor lessons, bushcraft and wildcrafting projects. We'll build shelter in the woods, make fire in difficult conditions, master map and compass using games and intiatives, explore new areas, play survival games like camouflage and learn to safely use a variety of tools. Skills gained will include tracking, navigation, cordage and knots, fire/shelter building as well as practicing leadership and teamwork.​
