Our local community programs offer classes for toddlers, youth, and adults throughout the year as well as ongoing collaborations with local schools.

Anglers After School

Learn the ins and outs of fishing and what it takes to be a successful and responsible fisherperson! Participants will practice rod and reel, casting, baiting, cleaning, and cooking. We may explore other methods such as fly casting, fish traps, gathering crawdads, making fish spears etc. depending on interest and time.

Seasonal Afterschool Programs

Coyle Outside offers a wide variety of after school programs which vary by season. These include, archery, fishing, nature arts, Outsiders Survival, Bushcrafters, and more. If you're interested in a custom after school program, please email ashleahc12@gmail.com

Archery Scout

Practice and develop your archery skills with experienced Archery instructors! Participants will practice all aspects of archery including gear use and safety, and work on target shooting, moving targets, shooting while concealed, and from high angles. Develop skills over the course of the term with weekly challenges and see who can pass each week!

Archery Scout Coyle Outside Program

Wilderschool 2.0

Wilderschool 2.0 is for students ages 9+ who have either completed an Immersion Class with Taproot previously attended Wilderschool or a Weekend Immersion class.


This class will provide a deeper dive into natural sciences and their connection to the skills we teach and the world around us. Instructors will introduce compound skills, five field trips, and guest instructors to incorporate additional skills development.

Wilderschool 2.0 Coyle Outside Program

Wilderschool 1.0

This class is designed for kids ages 6-10 who are looking for hands on learning and exploration, with time for self-led skills experimentation, play, relationship building, and life skills development such as communication, problem solving, & teamwork.


The class will discuss and cover geography through learning navigation, study native fauna through tracking & animal behavior, physics through survival traps, etc. Additional skills with science aspects covered include foraging, shelter building, fire safety & building.

Wilderschool 1.0 Coyle Outside Program

Cattail Kids - Toddler Nature Play

Cattail Kids is a 100% outdoors toddler program designed for 2.5-5 year olds who are mostly or completely potty trained, and ready for a drop off program. CTK runs in seasons/semesters, from 8:45am-12:30pm at Willamette Park and is a free play, nature exploration based program led by experienced and lead instructor, Teacher Vee. Teacher Vee has been with the program since 2022 and excels in creating and nurturing confidence building, encouraging curiosity, and following seasonal rhythms in the program.
